Christmas in the Cabin with Merry Little Christmas by My Mind’s Eye

Imagine this: you’re in a mountain cabin at Christmas, surrounded by snow-covered peaks and a cozy, inviting space. The crackling fire, warm lights, and that festive Christmas quilt draped over the couch or on your lap create a perfect holiday setting. Add in your dog, and you’ve got the ultimate holiday escape.

Hi, I’m Alexis of Stitched By Alexis! I love making quilts, especially for the holidays. Today, I’m excited to share my latest project using the Merry Little Christmas collection by My Mind’s Eye for Riley Blake. Trust me, you won’t want to miss this one!

Fabric Pull

When this fabric arrived, I was instantly smitten. Riley Blake fabrics are incredibly durable and made to last for generations. The rich colors, textures, and designs of this collection are absolutely stunning. From the deep green geometrics and plaids to the vibrant reds with Santa and festive prints, it’s a collection that’s perfect for creating lasting holiday memories.

Snowflake Quilt by Modern Handcraft

So, what did I create with this gorgeous fabric? A Snowflake quilt, of course! The Snowflake pattern by Modern Handcraft has been on my to-make list for years. Each new version I saw around the holidays made me want one even more, and I’m thrilled with how it turned out. The pattern allows for both color-blocked and scrappy versions. With these adorable prints, I knew I had to go for the scrappy look.

For the background, I used a Riley Blake Dapple Dot basic fabric to give it that perfect scrappy feel.

Cozy Shoot with Sadie

No mountain trip is complete without the whole family, and our beloved 12-year-old Sadie made herself right at home on the new quilt. Isn’t she adorable against the Snowflake quilt?

Now, I feel like I’m living in a Hallmark holiday movie—with a Christmas quilt in a cabin and a vintage truck. It’s a dream come true!

If you’re picking your next holiday project, keep the Merry Little Christmas collection in mind. Classic Christmas never looked so good, and you won’t regret it!
