Gone Glamping goes Patchwork
I’m back with two very cute Patchwork pillow makes! The new Gone Glamping fabric line by Lori Whitlock, has the most fun and cheerful prints. Being an avid camping family, I thought we needed some cute new patchwork pillows for our trailer. (How fitting right?!)
These quilted pillows were super quick to whip up and are really the perfect project to cleanse that quilty palette between larger makes! For the smaller patchwork pillow, I used 2 1/2″ strips. I sewed three strips together and cut them in 2 1/2″ sets and then sewed them into random 9 patch blocks. Each block should measure 6 1/2″ square. I used a total of 9 blocks to create an 18 1/2″ pillow top (For my middle block I fussy cut some of the Cottage white fabric because those little campers are so wonderful!)
For the larger patchwork pillow I cut 5×5″ squares and used the Campers midnight for the backing. Prairie Quilt Co has very handy free pattern for a patchwork pillow that instructs with an envelope backing if you want a pattern to follow!

It feels good to make.

Love your gorgeous Glamping Pillows. My question…do they have a zipper opening? If so, then the covers can be laundered. So how do you hide all the raw edge seams of the patchwork so they don’t fray in the washing machine?
Thankyou…from Australia.

Hey Barbara, Thank you!! The pillow case backing is an envelope closure and the front of the pillow case is quilted with batting and a backing. I have a free tutorial on a different patchwork pillow that follows the same method. If you want to check it out, it gets emailed as a free pattern when you sign up for my newsletter. https://mailchi.mp/706abaaa4908/piece-and-quilted-studio
