How To Sew Adorable Drawstring Carrot Treat Bags For Easter -

Time to hop to it! Easter is early this year – March 31, 2024 – are you ready? Today I want to share an easy and adorable lined, drawstring carrot bag tutorial.

This cute bag is a perfect way to use fabric scraps! Fill them with treats and add them to Easter baskets, give them to co-workers, neighbors, teachers and more. Fill them with fiberfill and use them for tiered trays or other Easter home decor.

MATERIALS:

Orange Fabric
- (4) 6″ x 7″
Green Fabric
- (4) 3½” x 6″
String or twine
- (2) 20″
Rotary Cutter, Ruler & Mat
Heat Erasable Pen
Seam Ripper
Small safety pin
Turning Tool (optional)
Sewing Machine
Thread
Iron & Ironing Board

You can use the same fabrics for the lining and the outside or mix and match. Use twine for an inexpensive and rustic look or use thin ribbon or other material.

In this tutorial I used some of the orange prints from my Happy at Home collection for the carrots and make the carrot tops with aqua prints. In the video tutorial below I grabbed the lime green windmill print from the Spring Barn Quilts fabric collection for a more traditional orange and green carrot.
