Freedom Garden – Americana Tote Bag

Hey there, it’s Kelly Renay here, and I am honored to be sharing my latest make, a stylish Americana Tote Bag featuring the gorgeous Freedom Garden collection.

What makes the Freedom Garden Collection so special?

The Freedom Garden Collection captures the essence of American pride with exquisite fabrics that feature the iconic red, white, and blue color palette, stars and stripes, florals, and ginghams. Introducing the Americana Tote Bag…

One of the standout pieces from the Freedom Garden Collection is the simplistic but iconic star print. This classic design sparked the idea of making a stars and stripes tote bag with an Americana spirit.

After I conceptualized a tote bag design. I wanted to show off my American pride by featuring bold USA letters on the main body sides of the tote bag, with a field of blue stars above. The USA letters were made with the modern blue gingham print against the charming white background ditsy floral print.

Then, the side panels show off a representation of Americas stars and stripes, by alternating the red gingham, white medium floral, red ditsy floral and the red stripes.

This bag is not only stylish but also durable, practical, oversized, and with lots of pockets. Because who doesn’t love a pocket? Making the Americana Tote Bag the perfect accessory for any patriotic occasion.

Unfortunately, the Americana Tote Bag is still in the developmental phase. More testing and versions need to be made before a pattern can be written. Because, if you notice the side panels, I completely forgot the zipper tabs and four layers of soft and stable is just too thick.
