Hello friends, it’s Amy from Ritual Quilt Company. Today, I’d like to share an adorable new fabric collection called Forest Village, along with a super satisfying and FREE project!

Have you seen Melissa Mortenson of Polka Dot Chair’s reading pillow pattern? It is the original reading pillow pattern, and you can find it here. I decided to make one of these pillows for both of my kids for Valentine’s Day. Just add a book (and some chocolate) and you have the perfect gift! These pillows are a quick make- I had both finished within an afternoon. I made the blue one, pictured above, for my son. He absolutely loves foxes, so I think it will be a hit. The fabrics I used are Lingenberry Floral in Sky for the pillow front, Main in Twilight for the pocket, and Forest Grid in Sage for the backing.

The pillow below is for my daughter. She’s a teenager, but I know she will love it! The Forest Village collection is full of whimsical prints that are appropriate for any age. I found it to be incredibly versatile, too, since the color palette includes neutrals along with coordinating pinks and blues. The fabrics I used for my daughter’s pillow are Lingenberries in Ivory for the pillow front, Main in Pink for the pocket, and Forest Grid in Wheat for the backing.

Now I just have to figure out where to hide these cute reading pillows until it’s time to gift them! What do you think? Don’t they make a sweet pair? I can’t wait to see what you choose to make using this adorable Forest Village fabric collection. Until next time, happy sewing!
