Letters From Home – Catch All Caddy

Are you a fan of all things patriotic and Americana? If so, you’ll enjoy the Letters From Home collection by Vicky Gifford. The Letters from Home collection is a beautiful tribute to the spirit of United States of America Military, featuring classic red, white, and blue designs with a splash of Army green, that evoke a sense of pride.

One standout piece from the Letters From Home collection, and my personal favorite, is the military transport print. This print features some impeccably painted transport vehicles, aircraft and ships by Vicki.

Hey there, it’s Kelly Renay here and, I had the pleasure of using the patriotic collection Letters from Home to make this versatile and practical bag. The Catch All Caddy 2.0 pattern ByAnnie is perfect for storing all your essentials.

Whether you use the tote to store tools of any kind, a first aid kit, or everyday items, the Catch All Caddy is both functional and fashionable, with endless possibilities. Pictured here are some of my Grandfathers old carpenter tools, but who knows how my Dad will end up using his new bag.

Before starting, I read through the Catch All Caddy 2.0 pattern to plan out my fabrics placement. The pattern calls for three fabrics; main, lining and coordinating. But I wanted to feature a few more of the patriotic prints from the Letters from Home collection. So, I used a pencil to make notes throughout the pattern so I remembered which pieces to cut and assemble with which fabrics.

The following list is how I broke down the fabrics placements.

Main fabrics:

Body of Caddy – Navy 1/8 inch Gingham, an RBD basic

Outer Pockets – Khaki Transport

Inner Divider – Red Text

Side Panel and Side Pockets – Navy Stamps

Lining Fabric: Green Toss

Coordinating Fabrics:

Binding of Pockets – Red Text

Binding / Handles / Handle Tabs – Navy Toss

Stabilizer Sleeve – Navy Stamps

Zipper Pull – Navy 1/8 inch Gingham, an RBD basic

This Letters from Home collection is a must have for anyone that wants to show off their USA military pride. Just like I am! Both of my Grandfathers served in the military. One in the US Navy during World War II and the other in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Sadly, neither of them are with us now, but I can honor them and all soldiers for the sacrifices they endure in serving our great nation.
