Make it Modern – Church on the Hill Quilt
The “Church on the Hill” quilt, which features the phase ‘Praise the Lord Always’, is a stunning landscape quilt created using Confetti Cotton solids. This masterful landscape quilt was crafted for the First United Methodist Church of Devine, Texas. Where it now displays in their fellowship hall as a symbol of faith and community.
Hey there, it’s Kelly Renay here and I’m blessed to be sharing this beautiful landscape quilt. In which I recently made for a local small church.

Why a Landscape?
Devine, Texas is a small town 25 miles southwest of downtown San Antonio, with a population less than 5,000 people, fueled by agriculture, teachers, and faith. Inspired by the flat lands and clear wide blue sky, the “Church on the Hill” landscape design captured the essence of the town. By depicting a place of worship and solace with a long pathway leading to a white church upon a grassy hill.

Selecting a Phase or Scripture…
For the “Church on the Hill” quilt to radiate positivity and joy, by spreading a message of faith and hope for all to see, it needed to include a phase or scripture that expressed the magnitude of Jesus Christ. After much thought and reflection, ‘Praise the Lord Always’ embodied the spirit of devotion.

Final Thoughts…
In conclusion, the “Church on the Hill” quilt is more than just a landscape quilt, it is a testament of faith and a reminder to reflect on its message, ‘Praise the Lord Always’. Whether the quilt serves as a source of comfort and inspiration for the First United Methodist Church of Devine members or visitors alike. This quilt is a celebration of community and a beacon of joy.
