You’ll Be Floored!

Greetings fibre friends! Shereece Nicole of Sew Hooked on Treasures back on the RBD blog and I’m super excited to share a new quilt pattern with you all!

Allow me to introduce you to Floored! She’s a fun, half rectangle triangle (HRT) based pattern that comes in three sizes – large throw, small throw and pillow/wall hanging.

If you’ve never tried HRTs before, no worries. I’ve got you! Here is a tutorial I created previously for the HRTree pattern. The same principles apply. The pattern itself also has detailed instructions with photos. If you ever get stuck, you’re always welcome to contact me (see below)!

With this pattern, I got a chance to play with the new line Winged Medley by Katherine Lenius. My goodness it’s gorgeous! Ever get those fabrics you don’t want to cut up they’re so pretty? Well, this was one of them for me. As you can see, I got over that to create the small throw and pillow covers.

Have you ever made an envelope-style pillow cover? I need to be able to wash mine, especially with little people in our house (and I’m kind of a klutz myself… shhhh!). Quilt blocks can easily be turned into throw pillow covers. Download a free guide on how to do so. This can be applied to any block, whether you use a larger block or combine blocks for a bigger square or rectangle.
