Lights On II – Early Bloomer Quilt
Hello! Laura from Slice of Pi Quilts here to share my quilt that’s featured in the March/April issue of The Quilt Pattern Magazine!

If you know me, you know my favorite color is turquoise. So when I got a bundle of the white-on-white fabrics from the Lights On II collection, I immediately wanted to combine it with turquoise fabric! I used all the fabrics in the Lights On II collection for the white squares in the quilt, and I used a mix of turquoise fabrics from my stash including Riley Blake Confetti Cotton solids.

I designed the Early Bloomer quilt so the small white-on-white prints would be like a game of “I Spy” when looking at the quilt up close. But from afar, the fabrics would read as solid and make up a larger design. (I even played with a black light when taking the quilt photos so you could see the prints better in the photos!)

Another fun fact about the quilt is that it has a total of 2,025 squares – and it’s the year 2025! That sure sounds like a lot of squares, but the quilt is made up of smaller 25-patch blocks that are easy to put together!

Would you use turquoise to make this quilt? Or would you choose a different color? What color do you have the most of in your stash?

If you’d like to get the pattern for this quilt, it’s in the current issue of The Quilt Pattern Magazine! If you’d like to look a bit more behind the seams of the quilt, you can read more on my blog post HERE. Happy quilting!
