Stationery Projects with Berry Market -

With February in full swing, what better time to create some Valentine-inspired stationery projects? Using the stunning red and pink prints from Riley Blake’s Berry Market collection, I made two charming and practical pieces: a pencil case and a notebook cover. These handmade stationery essentials are perfect for keeping your desk organised while embracing the season’s colours!

Project 1: Hemingway Pencil Case

This adorable pencil case, made using the Hemingway pattern by Center Street Quilts, is the perfect size for keeping pens, pencils, and small sewing notions tidy. The structured design showcases the vibrant Berry Market fabrics beautifully, making it as stylish as it is functional.

Materials:

Berry Market fabric – I used the red & pink prints
Lining fabric. A coordinating basic would suit well, and you can always find the coordinated fabric in the collection storyboard.
Fusible fleece or medium-weight interfacing – I used Vlieseline H640 which has a medium loft.
8” zipper
Matching thread

Tips for Sewing the Pencil Case:

Use fusible fleece to add structure to the case, ensuring it holds its shape.
Choose a contrasting zipper for a fun pop of color.
Topstitch around the edges for a professional finish.

Project 2: Notebook Cover by Rosie Taylor Crafts

For those who love to jot down ideas, this notebook cover is a must-make. Using the free Rosie Taylor Crafts tutorial, it fits a standard A5 notebook and features a handy pocket for storing extra notes or a pen.

Haberdashery & Materials:

Berry Market fabric
Lightweight fusible interfacing – I used B710 fusible interfacing by Vlieseline, which is also biodegradable!
Matching thread

Tips for Sewing the Notebook Cover:

Use lightweight interfacing to add durability without bulk.
Personalize it by adding a monogram or decorative stitching.
If gifting, pair it with a matching pen for a thoughtful touch!
