Join the Save the Day Quilt-Along!
Hello, friends! It’s Jennifer Long from Sew A Story. I have a fun quilt-along to share with you all using my new It Takes a Village fabric!
Join me starting January 8 as we sew the “Save the Day” quilt together! Celebrate the heroes in your community with a throw quilt featuring a police car, an ambulance, and a fire truck driving through a neighborhood.
It’s going to be so fun — and the QAL is totally FREE! Keep reading for all the important details
This quilt will challenge you, teach you new techniques, and inspire you to get creative and playful with your fabrics and quilts! (And children will LOVE the finished product!)
Project: Save the Day quilt by Jennifer Long
Size: 70 1/2″ x 92″
Techniques: Traditionally pieced with optional applique
Difficulty: Intermediate
Fabric Requirements
I’m using my It Takes a Village fabric collection to make this quilt. You can never go wrong with primary colors in a quilt. Bold reds, happy yellows, and sparkling blues play center stage in this fabric collection. Children will love exploring quilts and projects made from this fabric! They’ll discover houses, cars, city streets, words, and so much more!
Download the fabric requirements at the link below. You can also buy a kit of fabrics to make this quilt! My website has a list of quilt shops carrying the kits!
Join the Fun
The Save the Day QAL starts on January 8 and ends on February 26! For just a few hours each week, you’ll create a quilt that children (and adults) will love! See the schedule below, although you can sew at your own pace!
I can not wait to see your finished Save the Day quilts! Please share on Instagram using the hashtag #SaveTheDayQAL and tag me @sewastory_jenniferlong so I can cheer you on!
