Fast Track Quilt with Get Your Cray-on
Hello fellow makers, it’s Luci from Sea Garden Sewing. I had the privilege of working with the licensed collection Get Your Cray-on with Crayola for today’s project.
I was inspired by all of the low volume prints in the collection, so I wanted to feature them in a crib-sized Fast Track quilt designed by A Bright Corner. I chose various colorful prints for the accent pieces.
I had a few sessions of sewing the strips together while listening to podcasts, and the quilt top came together very quickly with chain piecing.
Here’s the finished quilt:
I backed the quilt in Bee Plaids Bushel Green from Lori Holt‘s Bee Plaids. The Fast Track quilt is created on point and then trimmed into a rectangle, so I sewed together some of the off cuts and cut them into 5″ squares that I incorporated into the backing.
The main print is probably my favorite in the line- I love all of the “I Spy” opportunities! The print features everything from elephants to ice cream and dragons to rocket ships.
These days, you’ll catch me binding most of my quilts with striped fabric. This quilt was no exception; I chose 1/8″ Stripe in Mustard for the quilt.
This quilt was a great make and made me reminisce on all of my childhood crafts created with Crayola crayons, markers, and colored pencils. If you’d like to see more of my quilting projects, you can follow me on Instagram at @SeaGardenSewing.
