Karen is coming all the way from Oregon to share her specialty of what she calls
‘Piecing Tiny Pieces’. Sounds intimidating? Not at all! Karen will share her love of piecing
perfection… wait? What?… Perfection?
No, Karen is not at all about perfection, but she is all about sharing her love of piecing and
helping others enhance their piecing confidence through many skill building tips and
techniques.
Not only is this a great lecture for beginning quilters, but a wonderfully informative refresher
for seasoned quilters.
And, Karen will be sharing samples of her new fabric lines for Riley Blake Designs!
Karen will bring her personal quilts showcasing her original pattern designs. Karen is all about Sharing the Journey and the J0Y of Creating!

Meet Karen Walker of Laugh Yourself into Stitches

Growing up on a family farm, her Grandma Cora lived only a strawberry field away.
Karen made her first quilt alongside her grandma when she was just a child using
scissors, templates and yarn to tie her pieced pride and joy together.
In the early 2000’s Karen got serious with her quilt passion. She started a quilting group
at her church in Oregon and worked at the local quilt shop called Main Street Cloth and
Mercantile. The shop was featured in the 2002 Quilt Sampler Magazine. Karen quickly
began teaching and loved every minute sharing her passion with others.
Things snowballed from there…a longarm came next, then pattern design and to her
surprise, fabric designing for Riley Blake Designs
In the past few years, Karen has been published in Simply Vintage Magazine,
Simply Moderne as well as Quiltmania. One of her quilts was featured on the cover of
Keepsake Quilting catalog, Fall of 2018. Recently, Quiltfolk Magazine highlighted Karen
in an email expose.
In January 2024 her first fabric line called ‘Huckleberry Saltbox’ for Riley Blake Designs
was released and her second fabric collection, ‘Sewing Your Oats’ will be in shops
December 2024.
