Fragrant Fields in the Patchwork Duffle Bag
Hey, hey! It’s Sarah of Sarah Jean Makes and today I’m so excited to share this fun project I made! I used the Patchwork Duffle pattern by Knot and Thread to create this great weekend bag. I’ve made one previously (which came out kind of wonky), and I have been itching to make another for a bit of duffle-bag-redemption. When these fabrics from Lila Tueller came across my sewing table, I knew they’d really shine in this pattern.
The florals are oh-so-pretty and have a watercolor vibe to them. I love how the colors burst off the fabric and play with each other. The designs in this collection are like a vacation to somewhere serene- cozied up with a good book looking over a beautiful nature scene. A perfect compliment to an overnight bag if I say so myself!
I organized my patchwork in a checkerboard fashion, using the Stony Path prints to anchor against the soft florals. They really pack a punch and give great contrast! I used the coordinate basic Dainty Daisy in Songbird for the strapping and piping along the zipper line to provide some visual balance.
I hope you feel inspired to create something beautiful with these fabrics just like I did! They are so fun to play with!
