Cheeky Ghost Quilt with Sparkler Fabrics
It might not be September yet, but I’m pretty sure I felt a cool breeze yesterday… *cue breaking out the fall fabrics, Halloween decorations, and all things pumpkin*! It’s Amy from Ritual Quilt Company here, and if you love the playful side of spooky season, I have a fun project to share with you.
This was my first time sewing with the Sparkler Collection by Melissa Mortenson, and I’m hooked. I typically shy away from using solid fabrics, but I really love the subtle print and versatility of these almost-solid fabrics. Those whimsical little stars have my heart, and they work so well for making a holiday themed project!
Last fall, I designed the Cheeky Ghost quilt so I would have something fun, easy, and quick to make for each of my kids. The quilt is named for the little stars that adorn the ghost’s cheeks! It finishes at 39″ x 51″, a lap or small throw size, perfect for children or those of us who are kids at heart.
There’s nothing quite like a classic Halloween color palette. For this quilt, I used Sparkler fabrics in Pumpkin, Ballerina, Charcoal, and Vintage White. The backing and the binding are from Lori Holt’s Bee Ginghams collection in the Lisa Autumn colorway. The Sparkler and gingham combination makes a sweet, playful, timeless quilt!
I’m thinking a winter holiday quilt using Sparkler fabrics might be next. Which fun projects would you use this collection for? I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Don’t forget to share your projects on social media and use the hashtags #ILoveRileyBlake and #SparklerFabrics.
