Wildflower Mix Quilt with Chloe

Hi Makers, it’s Sara Brown from @SaraBQuilts! I have been a fan of Rachel Erickson’s fabric collections since I started sewing 3 years ago, so I was super excited to get my hands on her new collection, Chloe! Chloe is a collection of butterflies, strawberries, dogs, and everything that makes you think of summer happiness!

The color range in the Chloe fabric collection is perfect for a floral or berry quilt pattern, so I had to decide between making a strawberry quilt or Amanda Loewen’s (Prairie Quilt Co) new Wildflower Mix quilt. Ultimately, I went with the Wildflower Mix quilt and I am SO glad that I did! It turned out beautifully and the Chloe fabrics were made for this quilt! You can find the pattern here

Picking the background fabric for this quilt was a no-brainer for me. The Clovers in Mint print is a gorgeous, pale green and the tiny clovers are just enough to give interest but not enough to take away from the quilt blocks. I am already dreaming up quilt ideas using Clovers in Cream as well!

For the flower centers, the Main print in Blueberry, Dogs in Cream, and Butterflies in Peony really stood out! I loved pairing them with the Damask, Gingham, and Strawberries prints. Every single color combination turned out cute, and I loved watching these flower blocks come together!

For the backing, I am going to use Riley Blake Design’s Coordinating Basic Ballerina Sparkler. It is a dainty shade of pink with the perfect hint of metallic in it! The binding will be Chloe Gingham in Jade. It pairs nicely with the Clover in Mint and contrasts the Ballerina Sparkler in a fun way!

I have so many things I want to make with the Chloe collection. Up next is a bag with the dogs being the star of the show. I can’t wait to see what you make with this collection!

Happy Making!
