Mini Holiday Projects With Magical Winterland

Summer is just heating up, but have you noticed all of the beautiful winter fabrics making their way into the world? The new Magical Wonderland collection by Lisa Audit found its way to my cutting table, and I had so much fun playing with it!

The storybook winter scenes in this collection provide the perfect opportunity for fussy cutting and using patterns that showcase large scale prints. Since the holiday sewing season can be so busy, I designed two new mini quilt patterns with the Magical Winterland collection in mind: the Giftable Mini Quilt and the Chalet Window Mini Quilt. If you are interested in making them, you can find the PDF patterns in my shop at ritualquiltcompany.com.

Each pattern comes with instructions to make the mini quilt into a pillow cover with binding, like the ones shown here. If you’d like to use the same prints, I’ve included the specific fabric details below.

Chalet Window Mini Quilt / Pillow

The Chalet Window Mini Quilt pillow project finishes at 24″ x 24″ and uses Riley Blake Confetti Cottons in Lodgepole for the sashing, border, and binding. The prints are Snow Winter Scene, and Barn Red Gingham from the Magical Winterland collection.

Giftable Mini Quilt / Pillow

The Giftable Mini Quilt finishes at 12″ x 20″ and makes a cute lumbar pillow cover. The fabrics used in the Giftable pillow above are Barn Red Gingham and Barn Red Tonal. The binding is Riley Blake Confetti Cottons in Lodgepole.

Have fun sewing with this whimsical collection! Don’t forget to use the hashtags #MagicalWinterlandFabric and #ILoveRileyBlake. If you choose to sew up one of my patterns, I’d love to see what you make, so feel free to tag me @ritualquiltcompany.
