Little Witch Braided Table Runner
Hey hey! It’s Sarah here of Sarah Jean Makes. I’m thrilled to share with you my recent project using the Little Witch collection by Jennifer Long.
I opted to use the Spider Dots blender fabric in Pumpkin and Smoke along with the Main print in Magenta and Pumpkin Patch in Purple. I wasn’t sure exactly what my plan was, but I was feeling in the groove of making these braided blocks. Each block uses seventeen 1.5 x 4.75 inch strips, alternating the fabric as I built my way up using a half log cabin style assembly. Once the blocks were a good size, I trimmed them down to 5.75 x 9 inches. Aren’t they just so fun together?!
After staring at these blocks for some time, I decided they would make a perfect double-sided table runner! I tossed in some sashing between blocks, added a border, quilted with an easy diamond grid, slapped on some binding in the Spider Dots Pumpkin colorway and voila! The table runner came together! I love that each side of the runner brings a different mood, the Main Print in bright Magenta giving a spooky witchy vibe, while the Pumpkin Patch in deep Purple showing a more autumnal vibe. This table runner will definitely be in rotation on my table top from Halloween to Thanksgiving!
