Hovering Hawks and Beggar’s Night
I’m back with the cutest little make that you can whip up in no time! I know it’s barely spring and you are probably not thinking of Halloween yet, but with this sweet and spooky Beggar’s night fabric line by Sandy Gervais, it is hard not to get excited for it!
I was so lucky to get a few of the prints (Main fabric in black, Stars in orange and Skulls in purple) and I had the perfect project in mind. I have been dipping my toes into the pattern designing world a little bit lately and thought a cute quilted pillow case would be a great starting point! This pattern is composed of four of the classic hovering hawks quilt blocks, grouped together to make a very classic star pattern, and makes a 20″x20″ quilted pillow case.
I used the 8 at a time method to make these HST’s and paired the fabrics with a Riley Blake basic (Texture in cream). It’s so fun to try a more intricate quilting design on a smaller project with a domestic machine, so I had to go with a spider web design.
