A Longing Fulfilled

Today we are sharing another incredible quilt from the Brown Sugar Stitchers Quilt Guild. This quilt is made by Nancy DeCreny Franklin. The photos don’t do justice to the artistry in this piece! Read on for the quilt story and more photos of ‘A Longing Fulfilled’.

Created in 2006 the tree is comprised of over 40 brown and green fabrics. The quilt’s outer border is make of bogolan (mud cloth). Proverbs 13:12 reads ‘hope deferred makes the heart sick, but longing fulfilled is a tree of life’. The collective love, wisdom, and achievement of us and our families became the longing fulfilled for our ancestors. May our tree of life become fuller by those who come after us.
