Divisadero – A New Modern Quilt Pattern by Sarah Jean Makes
Hey hey! It’s Sarah of Sarah Jean Makes and I’m so excited to share with you my next quilt pattern design using the Confetti Cotton solids!
When I approach quilt design, I draw inspiration from the city I live in, San Francisco. I love to incorporate elements of the city’s energy and vibe within my designs. This quilt is called Divisadero and reflects the art deco style that can be found up and down Divisadero Street. It uses complex nesting curves within the block and features a flowing gradient that radiates from the center of the quilt.
I was overwhelmed with options when I was selecting my color palette for this quilt. There are just so many beautiful colors to choose from! I was searching for a bright, deeply saturated palette that would showcase a gradient that would flow across the quilt as well as within the curved pieces.
The fabrics I selected were Eggplant, Purple, and Fuchsia for the gradient and Raspberry and Sugar Pink for the curves. It was all contrasted against the crisp Riley White background. Quilt backing fabric was Blossom in Raspberry.
These fabrics were a dream to work with – from cutting obscure shapes with templates to sewing together with ease. They really are so fantastic!
The Divisadero Quilt pattern by Sarah Jean Makes will be available on Friday, January 26th through the Sarah Jean Makes shop. Options for wholesale purchase are available, too!

Ooh! Those confetti cottons really pop with this quilt design. I love the gradient you were able to create! Cannot wait to make my own!
