A Modern Baby Quilt in Texture & a Free Tutorial
Texture, by Sandy Gervais, is a fabulous basic that has become a favorite for all! Once you add this to your stash, you won’t look back! Today we are sharing one of our favorite, simple projects we’ve made with Texture.
Texture can stand alone or work as an accent fabric, giving depth, and you guessed it, texture, to your project.
We used the Plus Sign Quilt TUTORIAL by Missouri Star Quilt Co. to get started, but instead of using 5″ squares, we cut 6 1/2″ squares. we used 64 squares total — 8 across and 8 down for a good sized baby or toddler quilt.
We decided to let Texture stand alone in this Modern Plus Baby Quilt and pulled various shades of blue and green, with a splash of Winter Pear. LOVE this color combo!
Here is a close up of the Texture fabrics. We used an aqua thread for the quilting, which adds a fun, subtle hint of color.
We quilted with straight lines, about 1/4″ – 1/2″ apart.
